There are two main threads that I am most interested in when parsing employment opportunities. First is access to the ability and requirements of performing research, whether for built projects or purely academic exercises that may result in further conversation and review. The components of research may be based upon construction typology, materiality, spatial organization/experience or social/historical precedence. The second requirement that I look for is a congenial and active discourse regarding design. Whether fostered through the organization in a structured manner or created through the application of a studio environment; I look to actively participate within a community interested in understanding and practicing tenants of how architecture can serve the better good through rigorous design.
Understandably both components are highly subjective and difficult at best to verify and implement, however I find both necessary to challenge my personal perceptions and responsibilities which I find makes me a better and more engaged designer.
